Our
First aid courses can be re-designed to suit
your own requirements; we have already achieved
this for many different clients in a variety
of working environments
Expedition
First aid 16hrs-
This course is designed for those who work
outdoors; the course usually runs over a residential
2 days.
Our courses are run in the Peak District, to
allow us to make full use of the natural surroundings
in which we use a team of 3-4 casualties to
create realistic scenarios. Caving, Climbing
and Canoeing accidents have all been explored
by our clients on these courses. The course
always involves a night exercise, in order
to test your new found skills to the limit.
First aid for Scout and Guide Leaders-
This course is a one-day course that was
designed for a group of scouting staff; all
the scenes were set at low-level around a campsite
style setting. Incidents represented real life
accidents, as you would be likely to encounter
in this environment.
A child and baby element was added, to fully
cover the needs the clients.
Child and Infant 8hr-
It was felt that the 12 hour course was far
too long for some and repeated a lot of the
skills learnt on other courses . Therefore,
in collaboration with nursery staff, we developed
a shorter course. The content of this course
was originally developed in association with
the National Childminders Association (NCMA)
and Pre-school Learning Alliance. (PLA)
The syllabus is the same, except for the areas
pertaining to Adult or are covered in the rest
of the Principles of Child Care course. The
original timing of 12 hours was also be further
reduced as the new resuscitation techniques
as brought in by the European Resuscitation
Council (November 28th 2005) have dramatically
cut the training time required. The trainers
always ensure that the needs of all the candidates
are catered for.
Course members may come from group settings
or work in a domestic setting, caring for children
in varying age groups, from 0-6 years.
‘I just want to play’-
We got a phone call from a Health and Safety
manager, who felt his first aid staff, were
under-confident in their skills, We went into
the workplace with a couple of our casualties
and set incidents up throughout the day, the
first aid staff really enjoyed the practice
and also learnt to develop their casualty skills.
We left 6 members of staff feeling confident
and refreshed in their ability to deliver first
aid.
If you would like your First aiders to just
get some hands-on practice, we can bring some
casualties to your workplace. This is also
an excellent way to update, prior to certificate
renewal.
We have also developed courses specifically
for staff that are:
Working at height
Rope Access
Aerial Erectors
