Course Overview
This is one probably our most popular First
Aid course. Interactive scenarios with an acting/reacting
casualty and practical exercises help candidates
to learn basic life support skills and to improve
their confidence in dealing with an emergency.

Who is it for?
If a First Aider is not legally required, an
employer should still appoint someone to take
charge of first aid provision, and this course
provides that person with the necessary knowledge
to do so.
This
course is also ideal for lone workers or employees
of smaller low risk organisations and anyone
who would like a basic knowledge of emergency
procedures.
What is covered?
Assessing the casualty
Dealing with an unconscious casualty
CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation)
Treating wounds and bleeding
Shock
Client specific subjects
There are also approximately 3-5 scenarios
with a
trained casualty
How will I be assessed?
There is no formal ‘exam’, the trainer
and casualty will continuously assess you, and
each candidate will receive a certificate of
attendance valid for three years
How long is the course?
Minimum of 4 hours (normally run over 6 hours)
This course can be run on-site for up to 12 candidates
or individuals can attend our open
courses.
