Course Overview
This comprehensive course aims to equip delegates
with the essential knowledge and practical
experience to enable them to carry out first
aid in the workplace. Candidates will learn
their skills by participating in unique practical
exercises and scenarios with acting/reacting
casualties.
Who is it for?
The course is suitable for those staff that
must obtain a First Aid At Work certificate and
become designated First Aiders in their workplace.
Also suitable for anyone who would like a deeper
knowledge of first aid.
What is covered?
Assessing the casualty
Dealing with an unconscious casualty
CPR (cardio-pulmonary resuscitation)
Treating wounds and bleeding
Shock
Injuries to bones, muscles and joints
Burns
Injuries to the eye
Poisoning
Recognition and treatment of illness
Transportation of casualties
Client specific subjects
There are also approximately 5-7 scenarios with
a
trained casualty
How will I be assessed?
The course ends with an independently assessed
practical exam. Our Trainer and the ‘casualty’ also
continuously assess you
If successful, you will receive a First Aid at
Work certificate, which is valid for three years.
How long is the course?
Minimum of 24 hours (normally run over 4 days)
How much will it cost?
First Aid at Work (on
site) £2000 + vat per course, up to
12 candidates
First Aid at Work (scheduled courses in Leeds
and Sheffield) £200.00 + vat per person
